Ticks. Ugh.

Ticks. Ugh.

Ticks. Nobody likes them. People ask us constantly what do we use for tick repellent. Honestly we haven't used anything. Our method is checking our bodies multiple times a day and being aware of tiny things crawling on our bodies. Frank and I have both experienced waking up from a deep sleep to a tick crawling across us and woke up in the middle of the night to see it.

Three Lily Mama's Travel Tips

Three Lily Mama's Travel Tips

I have been thinking about writing this post for quite a while! I'm excited I had an opportunity while in the flow of writing to get it out. I'm a long time user of organic clothing, sustainable products, eco and rechargeable items for over 12 years now. I've also been living off-grid on solar power for close to 6 years now. You might say I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to my gear. I've been traveling alone and with children since I was a teenager, and I've definitely refined things over the years! I like keeping things organized and accessible, there's just no time for frantically searching for things while running into a store or chasing after kids in airports.

Adventure Days: Reset

Adventure Days: Reset

I love our adventure days with my family. We live in the Midcoast Maine area and there are so many wonderful things to do, see, and eat within a short distance - perfect for a daytime jaunt. Working from home, we find the need to sometimes get out, see a different landscape, eat different things, and see people. We find that it allows for a wonderful energy reset and new inspiration to flow in.

Recipe: Make Your Own Shampoo

Recipe: Make Your Own Shampoo

Over the years, I've had various different hair types. I dyed my hair shades of red for 7 years, and then used natural things to lighten my hair (lemons, food grade hydrogen peroxide, tons of sun) for about 7 years. At one point a few years ago, my roots kept seeming so much darker than I remember them being, and I finally decided to make the plunge and get the rest of my hair matched to my roots. I also chopped most of it off within the same couple of weeks of doing so. The whole experience was a major energy and identity shift for me, and was part of the beginnings of my saturn return experience, so the timing was all meant to be.
