Adventure Days: Reset

I love our adventure days with my family. We live in the Midcoast Maine area and there are so many wonderful things to do, see, and eat within a short distance - perfect for a daytime jaunt. Working from home, we find the need to sometimes get out, see a different landscape, eat different things, and see people. We find that it allows for a wonderful energy reset and new inspiration to flow in.

Yesterday's adventure day included a trip to a great seafood market to pick up fresh Maine oysters, a picnic along the ocean (yes even in the chilly November wind) to enjoy fresh raw oysters, hanging around some cool shops in Rockland and Camden, and finished off with a dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Maine - Long Grain.

Oysters are a great highly nutritious food for pregnant mamas and anyone trying to conceive, so I get cravings for them every so often. Our heavily satiating and delicious Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday had me waking up with a craving for fresh light raw oysters on Friday.

Our adventure days always involve something fun with food. My hubby likes to tease me because I am complete health food store junkie and I love visiting different coops/health food stores and picking up a couple of treats for our day. I recently made the connection that I've done this for my entire life - being raised and doing our shopping at health food stores even if we were traveling, and I've visited so many across the country and world that it's become a fun thing that I love doing.

I failed to take a picture of our dinner experience at Long Grain - mainly because the food arrived quickly and we all immediately were diving in and couldn't get enough of every single thing that was served. I think my belly grew last night - just due to the pure expansion that was needed to fit the amount of food I had.

I can't recommend having a family adventure day or solo adventure day enough. It's long been one of my favorite things to do, satiates the travel bug (at least temporarily ;-) and fulfills the need for the every so often energy reset button.

Bring on the inspirational flow!
